We could not have asked for a better day. We arrived at the farm around 10 in the morning and our friends from Plant A Wish and farm crew were already there. Richard brewed us a hot pot of coffee or three and Chef JJ was prepping for fire roasted pizza using farm fresh ingredients like beets, fennel, asparagus, sweet Maui onions and Surfing Goat Cheese from the neighbors. The pizza was so phenomenal, I will create a separate post for that with a video coming soon.
Friends joined us throughout the day as we collected everyone’s wishes and talked story. We event took this photo to submit for the “Picnic for the Planet” with the Nature’s Conservancy for a World Record with this photo:
The community gathered for a walking tour of the farm grounds where the story continued. The wind picked up, kites were flying higher than treetops.
After Lunch, Joseph and Sara shared their story about Plant a Wish and what is means to preserve our native ecosystem. The tree ceremony commenced and something magical happened. There are no words to describe it. It just happened.
Thank you everyone for joining us, please come back and visit our tree anytime.
Farm pizza oven coming soon. Or should I say, “Beet-zza!”
